Packet # 1 High Potency Bleach, contains a towelette in a 2% (w/w) sodium hypochlorite soap solution.
Packet # 2 Bleach Inactivating Agent, contains a towelette in 1% (w/w) sodium thiosulfate with 0.9% (w/w) benzyl alcohol.
Two-step applicator kit cleans and inactivates chemotherapy drugs on work surfaces to prevent the risk of cross contamination. Creates a cleaner, safer chemotherapy work surface.
Kit consists of two towelettes packaged in numbered packets that are applied to the contaminated work surface in numerical order.
The active ingredient in Packet 1 is a 2% sodium hypochlorite soap solution. The active ingredients in Packet 2 are sodium thiosulfate and benzyl alcohol.
ASHP Guideline on Handling Hazardous Drugs, in its section on Decontamination, Deactivation and Cleaning, states MSDS's for many hazardous drugs recommend a sodium hypochlorite solution such as Surface Safe as an appropriate deactivating agent. Research shows strong oxidizing agents such as sodium hypochlorite are effective deactivators of many hazardous drugs.
Additionally, the use of two disinfectants reduces the risk of resistant bacteria.
Each package treats approximately 2 sq. ft.
